Algernon represented the lone entry of the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa into competition at the County Fair. A blue ribbon seemed hardly worth the hours of grooming that went into the preparing the bird for presentation. On hindsight, the Face of Everyman thought that a chicken would have done better.
