The Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa had an official Anger Management Clinic. the Face of Everyman was concerned at the poor success rate. Clients came angry and left just as angry. Renegade boxing promoters often tried to recruit these tiny packages of pugilistic dynamite to fulfill their evil schemes in that ancient and barbaric sport.
Peekaboo
the Face of Everyman’s whole being shuddered as he was awakened by Reggie playing peekaboo. The Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa Montetorkie School’s “head start” program that encouraged interaction among all beings. The venerable sage was determined to have his class of being removed from the list. No artfully carved chunk of basalt should ever have to suffer the indignity of having cold wet claws covering his eyes. Where were the parents when this sort of thing happened? Probably playing bingo in the Casino.
Hellespont
Auditions for the role of Leander in the classical play required the protagonist to swim the waters of the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa. the Face of Everyman explained, almost in vain, that these waters represented Hellespont, a key element in this epic story of two lovers. Seen above, a timid thespian wannabe tests the waters at every reading. In the end, the venerable sage re-cast some in “Death of a Salesman”, and give up on the idea of directing Summer Stock Theater.
Deluge
As the rain began in plop drops Armbrewster casually commented that he hopped that it wouldn’t rain a deluge causing him to miss lunch. The blue plate special served at the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa was renown hereabouts. the Face of Everyman could only smile. Mere words can not describe the downpours he had seen since the parting of the supercontent Pangaea.
Drowsy
At first the Face of Everyman thought that Cheeky was sleep walking. But no, Cheeky was trying to complain about the five Raccoons whose antics had kept him awake half the night. Normally the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa is a quiet place where a good night’s sleep is almost guaranteed. But, in truth, the venerable sage had his own cross to bear where it came to that riotous family of Raccoons.
Tabby Cat
The National Database of feline bio-metrics confirmed that this intruder had the statistical probability of being a cat. Cats were the least favored guest at the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa. the Face of Everyman felt compelled to develop a new algorithm that could assess the hunting skills and degree of hunger of each cat then issue an appropriate level of alarm. Early trials would begin at dawn. For now, everyone should shelter in place.
Fantasy
This week, to avoid paying her lodging and spa fees at the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa, Anastasia claimed to be Caledonia, Queen of a lost tribe of Scots and hadn’t run up those charges. the Face of Everyman had her Pinkerton Agency dossier and knew for a fact that she had been hatched in a dovecote in Hoboken, New Jersey. Fantasy didn’t pay the rent.
Quiz Show
The famous quiz show, Jeopardy, is coming to the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa. Seen above is Johnny Dark Eyes quizzing the Face of Everyman with practice questions. The venerable sage seems to be drawing a blank on many questions in the very categories he should know. Are the Gods trying to humble the world’s oldest citizen?
Prix Fixe Dinner
the Face of Everyman was unsure what to do. He had sold all Prix Fixe dinner tickets for the Valentines Day gala in the ballroom of the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa. Yet here was a thug demanding that he find one more table for this evening’s festivities. Luckily, the venerable sage had one thing in his favor: Many couples argue on this day and cancel or fail to appear. With a smile, Everyman was able to graciously oblige.
New Guest
the Face of Everyman tried to place the accent in the speech of the new guest. All were welcome at the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa but the venerable sage prided himself on knowing and placing every accent, no matter how and where guests learned their song. He would have to bide his time on this newcomer.
