As Halloween approached Dark Forces moved to place a satanic curse on the tranquility of the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa. the Face of Everyman seemed powerless to thwart this evil.
Evil
Ice
As ice began forming in the sacred waters of the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa the Face of Everyman was forced to turn ON the pond heater. Too many complaints were bad for business.
Bump in the night
The full moon hadn’t yet risen over the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa. the Face of Everyman sensed the strange creatures that go bump in the night. He felt fear.
Disappointment
Nimrod never learned that potato chips didn’t soak as well other foods. The pristine waters of the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa often became murky from soaked food. the Face of Everyman tried to caution the culprits, but to no avail.
Pajamas
Mon was unaware of Junior slipping out of the nest in his pajamas and joining the breakfast crowd at the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa. the Face of Everyman was heard to remark in sotto voce: “Moms should be more vigilant.”
Wet & Soggy
Rasputin always had a kind thought for theater goers who left veritable gems of popcorn for the hungry cleanup crew in the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa. the Face of Everyman wondered what wet, soggy popcorn tasted like.
Prayer
Henretta offered a small prayer to the Flowing Waters to ensure a good crop of nectar and insects over the coming months. the Face of Everyman assured her that the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa’s vast jungle could provide her both.
Diatribe
Yet again the Face of Everyman had to listen to one more diatribe about the lack of free bird seed. Indeed, what was the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa coming to?
Time Served
Johnny Dark Eyes dropped into the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa. He was out of the lockup: time served. He had hoped to pay his respects to his mother, but she seemed elsewhere. the Face of Everyman agreed to speak to her upon her return.
Pronoun?
As it turns out, the venerable sage had thought that this bird migrated South to Mexico. But, no, it roams the western part of its territory and stays close to the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa. Because of the dramatic change in Winter coloring the Face of Everyman wasn’t sure which pronoun to use in addressing this visitor.
