These are exciting times at the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa. The Reverend Lambda has performed several matrimonial unions just this past week. Seen here are Mavis and Doris joined at last. The good Reverend completing his solemn officiating with his signature flamboyant gesture. A true blessing for the new couple.
Anastasia
For a brief period of time the waters of the Spring of Eternal Life ceased to flow. Management at the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa was deeply concerned that this, their most revered public attraction, The William Wallace Memorial Stone would dry up, crack and exfoliate into mere sand. Luckily Anastasia, a guest and one of the last of the Romanovs residing in exile, discovered the problem: the pump was unplugged. Within the hour, as a sign of gratitude, tubs of Beluga caviar and cases of Champagne arrived at her secluded garden apartment. Link leads off site: http://tinyurl.com/gvhry43

Ice Carving
Winkem, Blinkem and Nod
The boys had learned the popular poem in class at the Montetorkie school. They had no access to a wooden shoe so they pretended that the William Wallace Memorial Stone was their make believe vessel and the waters of the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa their Misty Sea. All went well till Mom called them home for dinner. http://tinyurl.com/z99djuh
Portmanteau
Young Portmanteau cleared his throat and began his recital at the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa Montetorkie school summer talent contest. In a croaky, breathy voice he intoned: “Well, it’s been a quiet week in Lake Woebegon where all the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average.” He was magnetic. Many parents wept. He was awarded the prestigious Montetorkie Doppleganger Trophy.
Parade
Thespians
Luncheon guests at the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa were often treated to a tableau created by the local Amateur Thespian and Summer Playhouse Group. Staged here is that immortal classic: “The Kiss”. Luckily for Oswald his suspenders were caught on the drain pipe. After a few furtive attempts, Lorraine succeeded in dislodging them. A standing ovation by onlookers was their shared reward for such authentic artistic expression.
Newcomer
Earl
Earl stopped off at the Foggy Bottoms Resort and Spa Coffee Shop for a coffee and Danish. It had been an arduous morning searching for worms. His Mom had named him Early Bird but it came with such a high price in responsibility and duty that he shortened it to just plain Earl. It didn’t matter; it changed nothing, he still felt compelled to get up and out foraging before the crack of dawn.
